Friday Challenge #9!

Hello Wonderful Students,

Last week we made our own books. This week, we fill them!

(If you missed it, check out last week's challenge to learn how to make your own books.)

Step 1: Think of a "why" question.

Example Questions:

- Why do cats purr?

- Why do we have toes?

- Why is sugar so delicious?

Step 2: Find sources that will help you answer your question.

Example Sources:

- Scientific articles, like those on Science Journal for Kids

- Non-fiction books you have in your house

- Non-fiction books online, like these free books

- Encyclopedias, like Britannica Kids

- Non-Fiction videos, like Brain Pop or Brain Pop Jr.

- Newspapers or non-fiction magazines, like Scholastic Magazine

Step 3: In the book you made, record (1) your question, (2) an answer you found + the source you found it on, (3) another answer you found + the source you found it on.

Now here's the big challenge: Can you find two sources that give different answers to your question? Why do you think these two sources gave different answers to the same question??

When you're done, you can post a video sharing what you found out on FlipGrid. You can also get to FlipGrid through the Media page on Clever.

Love & Books & Questions,

Mrs. Moss
